The Royal Berkey gravity-fed water filter system can effectively eliminate contaminants from drinking water supplies and untreated raw water sources such as remote lakes, streams and stagnant ponds.
The system comes equipped with two Black Berkey elements, capable of filtering up to 4 gallons per hour. You may add up to four additional elements if desired to increase its capacity by double.
Removing Pathogenic Bacteria and Parasites
The Royal Berkey Water filter effectively filters out pathogenic bacteria, cysts and parasites as well as chemical contaminants and impurities from your drinking water while leaving essential minerals your body requires for good health. Furthermore, this system can significantly lower lead, mercury and other dangerous heavy metal levels in your system.
These contaminants may enter your drinking water supply through damaged pipes or unclean supplies, and may pose serious health threats, including amoebiasis, intestinal infections, giardiasis and more. The royal berkey water filter was designed to safeguard families against these dangers by filtering out contaminants before drinking water is delivered to homes.
Glyphosate, a common pesticide found in many popular weed killers, can enter your tap water through soil erosion and runoff. The Royal Berkey water filter has proven successful at filtering out over 75% of this toxicant from drinking water – exceeding laboratory reporting limits by far! Furthermore, the filter also removes disinfectant byproducts called Haloacetic Acids 5 (HAA5) linked with bladder cancer risk in humans – so making this system easily assembled and usable by households of two to four members without needing tools or electricity!
Removing Harmful Chemicals
Berkey water filters remove pathogenic bacteria, cysts and parasites as well as harmful chemicals from your drinking water, such as lead, chlorine, benzene chromium VI volatile organic compounds (VOCs). They also filter out unhealthy minerals like nitrates/nitrites/food coloring without eliminating essential trace elements that your body needs for proper functioning.
Black Berkey elements can remove GenX, which has polluted drinking water in North Carolina, as well as PFOA which has been linked with health issues like cancer, low birth weight and fertility issues.
Simple to operate and requiring no electricity or plumbing, portable water filtration systems offer great cost-cutting potential when traveling abroad or camping trips – just be careful packing the filters as they’re fragile! They’re an affordable way to cut back on costly bottled water purchases!
Removing Heavy Metals
Berkey systems rely on Black Filtration Elements (sold in pairs), which provide unparalleled contaminant reduction. Independent laboratory tests have confirmed this claim by showing they successfully remove various toxic pollutants including bacteria, viruses, heavy metals and more.
The outer layer of this element consists of microporous material which traps and encases particles, bacteria, and parasites; its inner layer features a proprietary blend of media designed to adsorb and reduce harmful chemical pollutants.
This system is easy and portable; perfect for power outages or remote locations without plumbing or water pressure. Each set of two filters typically lasts 6000 gallons before needing replacement; eliminating disposable plastic water bottles is a cost-cutting measure as well as helping reduce waste, carbon emissions and carbon footprint. Furthermore, camping trips or vacations make great use of it while it can even filter pond or stream waters!
Removing Food Coloring
The Berkey system effectively eliminates pathogenic bacteria, cysts and parasites while extracting harmful chemicals such as herbicides, pesticides, VOCs organic solvents radon 222 trihalomethanes while also reducing nitrates/nitrites/lead/mercury without taking away essential beneficial minerals that our bodies require for healthy functioning.
Ultimately, this makes the Berkey water filter an extremely flexible option – perfect for both emergencies and everyday use alike.
After every use, it is recommended to rinse your Stainless Steel Berkey with clean cold water and to wash its filters regularly. Re-priming should be carried out once per month on both fluoride and arsenic filtration elements as well.
To check if your system is working as intended, fill the upper chamber with water and add 1/4 teaspoon or 1/2 teaspoon of red food coloring for Travel, Light, Big or Royal Berkey models or 1/2 teaspoon of food coloring for Imperial or Crown Berkey models. When added, the food coloring should produce a slight pink hue in the water that should dissipate quickly after its addition – otherwise elements are likely dirty and need repriming.
