Berkey Water filter systems employ cutting-edge technology that generates pure drinking water at an incredibly cost-effective rate – producing delicious beverages for just pennies per gallon! Utilizing gravity, they purify any source water without needing electricity or a connection.

Black Berkey elements use mechanical means to remove harmful pathogens, cysts and parasites while also reducing fluoride, heavy metals, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, herbicides pesticides and petroleum contaminants from water supply systems.

Features

Berkey water filters remove pathogenic bacteria, cysts, parasites and chemical contaminants while leaving in essential minerals necessary for healthful body functioning. The end result is water that’s pure, delicious and healthy!

CONVENIENT Berkey systems are simple and hassle-free ways to provide clean water on the go – ideal for travel, hunting, camping, office kitchens and college dorm rooms, as well as natural disasters or emergency situations when treated water is unavailable. Portable designs make these portable solutions portable enough to bring with you anywhere – perfect for travel, hunting and camping trips; office kitchens; college dorm rooms – or emergency situations in which treated water may not be accessible.

Black Berkey Filters Black Berkey purification elements contain ions that attract contaminants and bond with them, never allowing them to pass through and enter your drinking water source. This feature sets them apart from point of use treatment systems which rely solely on water pressure.

With just two Berkey filter elements, you can access over 6000 gallons of filtered water – enough for an average family of four! For optimal results, change out your filters every six months for optimal performance.

Benefits

Berkey water filtration systems are designed to minimize waste and environmental impact by replacing expensive plastic water bottles with simple and cost-effective filtration technology. Their design makes them user friendly – perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, self-sufficient homes, missionaries abroad and relief organizations worldwide.

Black Berkey filters are cutting-edge filters designed to remove harmful pollutants via mechanical micro-filtration, including pathogenic bacteria, cysts and parasites, along with harmful chemical contaminants and impurities, leaving behind only essential minerals our bodies require for health.

Black Berkey filters’ lifespan depends on both the quality of water source as well as daily usage patterns. To estimate their lifespan, multiplying each Black Berkey element by its Daily Usage in Gallons then dividing by 11. This will give an approximate estimation as to when they will need cleaning; to keep them running efficiently it is advised that after each use to rinse away excess sediment to prevent clogging up of elements.

Installation

Berkey filters are simple and require little maintenance, providing clean drinking water for just pennies per gallon at an economical price. Simply pour water into the upper chamber, and it will start filtering immediately using microfiltration, adsorption, and absorption processes that produce delicious drinking water at an amazingly reasonable cost – up to 3,000 gallons can be filtered before needing replacement, making this an excellent solution for families and individuals.

Seeing white deposits on your black filters? Often it’s caused by minerals ionized from water; to remove this residue simply use a damp sponge and wipe away with it.

To check whether your filters are correctly primed, fill the chamber with tap water and place the elements with their stems facing upward. If they sink, your filters have been properly primed; otherwise, additional priming may be required. Alternatively, run cold water through your Berkey for several minutes to prime it instead.

Maintenance

The Berkey system is simple to operate and its maintenance procedures are straightforward. Regular cleaning of Black Berkey elements and any add on fluoride filters is recommended to extend their lifespan and free the water more freely flowing through. A scrub sponge or walnut scrubber may help clear away any buildup on filters so the water flows more freely through them.

Black Berkey purification elements have an approximate filter capacity of up to 6,000 gallons before they must be replaced, or approximately three years of service. When they start slowing down, this indicates clogging of micropores due to contaminants, and should be cleaned and re-primed; similarly, fluoride filters should be cleaned every 1,000 gallons with non-toxic scrub sponge or walnut scrubber and rinsed off in large pot of fresh water for best results.
