Enhancing Your Workshop with Multitool Bench Grinder Attachments

Never too late to teach an old grinder new tricks! Multitool bench grinder attachments transform any standard metalworking grinder into an all-in-one shop tool – perfect for grinding, sharpening, sanding, polishing, contour shaping and deburring tasks.

Mounts horizontally or vertically on virtually all grinders and features a 2″x36″ belt grinder equipped with contact wheel, platen and slack belt surfaces.

Sharpening Tools

Sharpening tools allow you to hone tool blades to a sharp, fine edge for use. There is a range of shapes and grits to suit axes through to screwdrivers.

Carborundum water stones provide an affordable way to keep tools razor sharp. Their coarse side removes any nicks or scratches, while their finer grit smoothes over blades so they’re ready for cutting. In addition, this stone type can also be used to re-tip chisels, power planer blades, and slotted screwdrivers – an invaluable asset!

Oilstones provide another durable and long-term option, though they must be regularly flooded with machine oil in order to prevent their surface from becoming clogged with abraded metal and sharpening particulate, thus helping reduce friction and heat that would otherwise melt the metal of an edged tool. Natural and man made options of oilstones exist.

Grinding

A grinder equipped with a cut-off disc can quickly clear away materials such as drywall, cement and mortar. You may also use it to strip away old paint prior to painting or weather stripping projects. Because such tasks produce dust that’s harmful for lungs, wearing a mask is vital.

A double-column surface grinder is an ideal way to machine large components with high levels of precision. Its slant beam design evenly distributes loads for maximum stability during grinding; making this tool essential for metal fabricators, knife makers and farriers.

A cylindrical grinder uses a wheel with multiple grits to alter the shape and dimensions of hard materials like metal. It’s commonly used to craft rods, tubes, bearing races and bushings. Other types of grinders include center grinders with accurate center holes to support shafts; die grinders used mostly in fabrication work; angle grinders that can also be handheld; and center grinders.

Polishing

Many metal fabrication processes involve sanding to a fine grit and polishing to an impeccable mirror finish. Polishing removes any oxidation and small valleys caused by scratches to create an even surface that allows light to reflect evenly, our technical team can advise you on which polishing products would best fit your application.

Our popular Multitool Grinder Attachment transforms any bench grinder into a powerful and flexible metal finishing tool. Equipped with contact wheels, platen and slack belt, the Multitool allows users to sharpen, shape, de-burr, brush polish or sand metal parts of all kinds. Additionally, its front contact wheel has serrated surface for precise grinding control while its underside belt offers extended slack area to conform to contours in work piece work pieces.

The 2×36 belt offers superior performance and can be utilized with various attachments in seconds for grinding, sanding and polishing applications. Furthermore, this unit comes equipped with a large 7″ disc sander on one end for general deburring needs.
